This was my moment of clarity! This was when I realized that I had to buy an end table with storage.
How could someone that fancies herself a good homemaker ever let a coffee table get into this condition?
I suppose I could blame Hubby. It is Monday, after all, and he did spend most of the weekend sitting on the couch watching movies on the Big Screen.
The trouble is, though, I was sitting next to him most of the time…
But…in the end, getting this mess off of my beautiful coffee table (and, keeping it off!) was the order of the day.
It wasn’t the trash, you understand. That part is easy. But what to do with the other stuff…
- Remote controls for various electronic toys
- Books we’re currently reading
You know…The stuff you need to have handy when lounging around on your over-stuffed sofa…
My first thought was to get a chest coffee table, but I absolutely love the one we have now and I’m not replacing it!
The only other choice, as I saw it, was to replace my end tables with others that offered a closed storage space. Otherwise I would only be trading one large, messy table for two smaller ones.
So began the shopping…
I looked at a lot of end tables! Some of my favorites are shown below, but I’d bet you can guess which one was the winner for me…
